I am doing my first News Article to honor and remember the Fort Hood Massacre that occurred yesterday afternoon, November 5, 2009. Updates and new information are being thrown at me from several news channels as I write but hopefully this sums it up:

Yesterday afternoon, an army officer opened fire with two handguns in the Soldier Readiness Center at Fort Hood. Fort Hood is located 2 hours from me in Killeen, TX and it is THE LARGEST MILITARY BASE IN THE WORLD. The officer, a muslim in his late 30's who was about to be deployed later this month, was a psychologist for the Army where he dealt with returning soldiers dealing with PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder). He killed 13 people and 30 are wounded. As far as I know, everyone I know who is on the base that I've contacted is okay but there are a few others I have not heard anything from or about. They have several other gunmen in custody and are looking for more and the base is still on lock down...nobody comes in or out.
